Art Blog: I AM … Charlie

I AM Charlie Anger low res

I AM … Charlie

This is one of my original signature series of abstract portraits that I am working on.  Usually created in a deep meditative state, with headphones on … just connected to my soul.

Charlie is that part of us that has taken a hardship and converted it into a stepping stone. He’s the part of us that has let go of anger, and embraced compassion. Charlie is that intensity within us that makes us go after our dreams. Charlie is that silent strength within us who knows nothing is impossible. Charlie is the deep wisdom that is pulsating through our DNA.

I used charcoal to create this abstract portrait on paper.

Art Blog: Dandelions

Dandelions low res

Some people get addicted to people, to drama, to situations, to drugs, to certain types of foods. When we try to break that addiction, we realize how difficult it is. Some give up and go back to living the same old life. Some dig deep down and find courage within. We understand consciously how hard it will be to let go, and we accept the ‘temporary’ hardship, knowing that on the other side, something new awaits us.

Letting go is for the courageous. Sticking to the path takes even more courage. Accepting that you have an addiction and that you want to change it, evolve from it … that in itself is a huge step. It’s very similar to the life of a dandelion.

Although dandelions sometimes are classified as weeds, their lives symbolize rebirth of something new. The wind blows, and their spores disperse and land far away, somewhere new, where they prosper and grow. Having the courage to allow the winds of change to blow through your life as you let go of your addiction, you land up somewhere completely new, different, unexplored. And yet it is here that you bloom, prosper and grow.

I created this artwork using oil paints on paper.

Art Blog: Being Extraordinary

being extraordinary low resAs humans, we are always trying to fit in in order to belong. It’s supposedly the ‘law of the land’. God forbid if we allow our true authentic self to emerge. Family, society and peers start calling us ‘weird’. They shun us, outcast us, and create circumstances where we are nudged back into their box of what’s acceptable.

The truth is they don’t get ‘weird’. They don’t get how being different is actually fun. They don’t get being extraordinary. And it’s perfectly ok for them not to get it. Seriously. It’s actually ok. After all…

It’s not their journey. It’s YOUR journey.

It’s not their truth. It’s YOUR truth.

It’s not about them. It’s about YOU.

What if you could actually choose to show up as the true magnificence you truly are? What if you could choose to stand on this Earth in your true authentic power that you truly are? Can you imagine the magic you can create? 🙂 Can you imagine how amazingly different your life would start to be? The joy you would feel deep within your soul? Wohoooo 🙂

I used palette knives and oil paints to create this on paper.
