Art Blog: Jamaican Sunset

jamaican sunset high resLast year, I went with my soul sister on an adventure to Jamaica. We drove from Ocho Rios to Negril, to Rick’s Cafe to see the sunset.  Everyone told us it’s a sight not to be missed. And wow, what a sunset it was!

We sat in this friendly beautiful cafe, built on a naturally formed cliffs, and watched the crystalline blue waters turn fiery as the sun set. It took our breath away. The colors dancing upon the waves. Little boats, filled with people, partying to reggae music, hovering in the distance. Clouds of unparalleled formations and colors, creating an atmosphere of magic. And the sun itself … I thought the Sun God himself had descended to showcase the beauty of the universe. Spectacular is an understatement.

This painting was created from a photograph I took that evening. One of my best photos. Little did I know it was turn into an artwork that’s so close to my heart.
