The failure of man

“In the hopes of reaching the moon men fail to see the flowers that blossom at their feet.”

~Albert Schweitzer

So often, we don’t see what is in front of us … we see ahead, around, we look to the stars, the moon, we dream of the planets and the universe, but we never see the beautiful flowers under our feet. At times, we trample over them in our attempt to get to the stars and the moon. We trample over their innocence, and we ignore their beauty and fragrance. And then … once we realize we can’t get to the moon, we look for the flowers below our feet, only to realize we have destroyed them in our ignorance!
